Wenge is a short hunting knife with a hand-forged blade of Swedish Sandvik 12C27, a steel made for a clean edge that is straightforward to bring back. The handle pairs pale Latvian elk antler with dark African wenge, separated by a thin red liner, with a brass eye at the pommel. It comes with a thick leather sheath, laced and finished by hand. Antler and wenge are never the same twice: you receive exactly this knife.

Care instructions
Wipe the blade dry after use and keep a drop of food-safe oil on the edge. Do not leave it wet or wash it in a dishwasher. Keep the leather sheath dry and condition it now and then with leather balm. Wipe wood and antler with a dry cloth.

Handmade. Colour, grain and small marks in antler, wood and leather vary from knife to knife and are part of the piece.

Riga, Latvia

AAKnives is the Riga workshop of Anri Ananins. Blades and steel parts are forged for the workshop by blacksmiths who have worked metal for decades, then fitted, assembled and sharpened in Latvia. Handle materials come from places in Europe with a long knife-making history, and the designs are drawn up by the Latvian team. The workshop makes hunting, outdoor, fishing and kitchen knives, and axes, and stands behind them with a European warranty. The pieces on Delmara are from the Prestige collection, each one handmade. Antler, wood and leather differ from knife to knife. Stock is held in Riga, at Šmerļa iela 3.
