Where do Delmara's products come from?
Every piece is handmade in Latvia by the workshops shown on its product page: amber jewellery by Georgs Romulis in Riga, linen by Studio Natural, ceramics by Cepļi, cerannic, Vaidava Ceramics and makers from the Latvijas Labumu Tirgus marketplace, willow baskets by the Tutāns family of Pinumu Pasaule, and wooden boards and games by Raibi Koki.
Is the amber real Baltic amber?
Yes. The amber jewellery is natural Baltic amber, a fossil resin formed over some 40 million years. Every piece is one of a kind, so you receive exactly the piece shown. Colour, clouding and inclusions vary naturally. Styled and worn images of amber are digital illustrations; the photos on a plain light background show the real piece.
What is milky amber?
Milky (opaque) amber gets its colour from countless microscopic air bubbles trapped in the resin. Shades range from royal white and butterscotch to egg-yolk yellow; it is among the most sought-after kinds of Baltic amber.
How do I care for amber jewellery?
Amber is soft and light. Put it on after perfume and hairspray, keep it away from heat and cleaning products, wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth and store it separately from harder jewellery. Roll stretch bracelets on and off rather than pulling them.
Which countries do you ship to and what does delivery cost?
Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Germany: EUR 8. Other EU countries: EUR 12. Other available destinations, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Norway: EUR 18. Standard delivery is free from a merchandise value of EUR 120.
How long does delivery take?
Unless another period is agreed, goods are delivered no later than 30 days after payment is confirmed. Handmade or made-to-order pieces can need longer; any longer period is confirmed before you buy. Orders from one workshop ship directly from that workshop; mixed orders are collected in Ādaži and sent together.
Can I return a piece?
Yes. EU consumers can cancel within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving a reason. You pay the direct return postage; we refund the purchase price and standard delivery within 14 days of your notice. Pieces made to your specifications are excluded. Are prices shown with VAT?
Yes. All prices are in euros and include VAT. Checkout shows merchandise, delivery and the VAT included. For deliveries outside the EU, import VAT or duties of the destination country may apply.
How can I pay?
Payment runs through Stripe with Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna or SEPA direct debit, where offered at checkout.
Do I need an account to order?
No. You can order as a guest with your email address; you can create an account later to see your orders.
Why does my handmade piece look slightly different from the photo?
Handmade pieces from natural materials vary in colour, grain, weave, glaze and size. These variations are part of their character and not defects.
Can I order a custom size or colour?
Several workshops make to measure, for example willow baskets, lamps and linen textiles. Write to hello@delmaraliving.com with what you have in mind and we will ask the maker.
